According to Gravity’s Law is an emerging work by dancer and choreographer Lea Karnutsch. It is produced by Dance Identity and will exist in three different versions: as a stage piece, as a video/live hybrid installation, and in a video version. The artist shares the trailer of her work with the Choreographic Platform Austria.

According to Gravity’s Law

The forces of nature and physics on the one hand, and human fragility on the other. Every day, a trial of strength takes place between these two parties - the outcome: a tie, or not? The struggle with and against gravity, friction, electrical power and their companions often goes unnoticed, and yet it is a tension that never lets us go, from which we cannot free ourselves. Would this game without an outcome take a different course if physical forces reversed their mode of action? Or would there still be no escape?

Dance Identity (D.iD)

In the last two decades, Dance Identity (D.iD, founded in 2005 by Liz King) has established itself in Eisenstadt as one of Austria's leading choreography centers. It provides production facilities such as rehearsal spaces, office spaces, performance venues, mentoring, and access to an international network. D.iD supports emerging artists by assisting in the production of their works. This enables artists active in the Austrian scene to realize works in their early phases and increase their visibility. In addition to residencies, D.iD also hosts the Dance Identity Festival twice a year.
