Whether masterclasses, discussion formats, or community building—the Festspielhaus St. Pölten offers a diverse and popular cultural education program in dance and performance. For our video contribution, we spoke with Gabrielle Erd, Leonie Humitsch, and Margit Mössmer from the department of Cultural Education & Outreach to gain some insights.

Festspielhaus St. Pölten

The Festspielhaus St. Pölten is a place of active engagement with dance, music, and architecture.

Just as the luminous facade of the Festspielhaus unmistakably lights the way across St. Pölten’s night sky, dance and music enthusiasts enjoy performances and concerts by internationally renowned artists in the distinctively striped armchairs of the Grand Hall.

Originally conceived by architect Klaus Kada as the musical home of the Tonkünstler Orchestra, the striking theater building quickly gained recognition beyond its brilliant acoustics. The Festspielhaus St. Pölten transformed from a concert hall in the capital of Lower Austria into an internationally acclaimed co-production center for the diverse expressions of contemporary dance. World-class dancers and choreographers now present their latest creations here as Austrian, European, or world premieres—or develop them on-site during extensive artist residencies.
